Section 3:
Point Keeping: The following rules will apply to qualify for the High Point Year End Awards:
1. All classes offered for each class division above, at all NRRHA shows held during the
calendar year, shall be used to calculate Year End High Point awards. Points shall be
calculated by awarding the 1st place horse with points equal to the number of qualified entries
in the class.
Example: In a class of 10 qualified entries First place will receive 10 points.
Second place will receive points equal to the number of qualified entries in the class minus 1.
Third place will receive points equal to the number of qualified entries in the class minus 2 and
so on.
2. Qualified entries are those riders that receive a score. Those rides that receive a score of
"0" are still counted as a qualified entry. Those entries that are a SCRATCH are disqualified
and therefore receive no score are not qualified entries.
3. "0" scores will receive "1"point.
4. In the case of a tied placing, all entries at that placing shall be awarded the average of the
number of places tied.
Example: The count of entries is 10. The 1st place horse receives 10 points, 2nd place
receives 9 points, 3rd/4th/5th places tie, so (8+7+6)/ 3 = 7 points to each of those three in the
tie. The next horse would be considered to be in 6th place and would receive 5 points.
5. BOTH the rider and the horse owner must be current NRRHA members in good standing.
Points will begin to accumulate from the time membership is paid. They are not retroactive to
include a NRRHA show which exhibitor participated in prior to becoming a NRRHA member.
6. There is no additional cost to compete for Year End High Point awards outside the annual
NRRHA membership dues.
7. A "one horse, one rider" principle shall apply. A member may qualify on multiple horses or a
horse may have more than one rider but each team of horse and rider must meet all the rules
to be eligible to receive a Year End High Point award. Substitution of either the horse or rider
would be considered the formation of a new horse/rider team and be counted with separate
points if all other criteria is met.
8. Horse/rider teams must compete in the posted year-end qualifying shows to qualify for yearend
awards.
9. Year End High Point awards shall be awarded down to 3rd place in each of the class
divisions listed above. In the event of a tie in any division, the tiebreaker will be determined by
the exhibitor who participated in the most classes in that division. If there is still a tie, the next
tiebreaker will be the exhibitor with the highest judge’s score in the qualifying class at the last
NRRHA show of the year.
